What are some of the key achievements or milestones you are proud of during your time at Aspect Capital?
During my time at Aspect, I’ve had the opportunity to work on several exciting projects. Some of the key achievements include improving data processing workflows to increase team efficiency. These achievements not only made a positive impact on the team but also helped me grow as a data analyst.
How has your role as a data analyst at Aspect Capital evolved since you started?
I initially joined in September 2021 as a Data Apprentice. The first year of my apprenticeship was focused on developing practical skills and knowledge of the industry and the different characteristics of datasets. Over time, I have taken on more complex projects and responsibilities, such as onboarding new datasets and optimising workflows. This evolution of my role has been both challenging and rewarding, and I’m excited to continue growing in my role as a data analyst now that I’ve completed my apprenticeship.
How would you describe the company culture at Aspect Capital?
Everyone is motivated to continue learning and growing, as well as helping you do the same. There’s not only a large focus on professional development, but also on personal well-being. There are numerous events throughout the year that offer the chance to socialise with colleagues and offer new experiences (such as go-karting, cat cafes, and line-dancing). The culture at Aspect has made a large contribution to my growth, and I’m grateful to everyone who has taken the time to help me with all my questions over the years.
What advice would you give to someone looking to pursue a career in data analysis?
My recommendation would be to stay curious about new developments in the field. Data analysis is constantly evolving and so making sure you continue to grow your practical skills and apply them to various projects is important. Practical experience is extremely valuable, so make sure to seek out internships, apprenticeships, or projects where you can apply and grow your skills
